Morning: a cardboard box on the paving.
He drops a white pipe down the middle, then lines both sides with green wine bottles. Cement covers everything. The box comes off later. The bottles stay, bottoms out. He sands the top, paints the sides dark brown, and leaves the glass clear.
Night: the bottles glow yellow under the wall light. The plain step is gone.
