A: Yeah, who is it?
B: Hi. I’m Vanessa. I just moved upstairs.
A: (opens door) Hey.
B: Hi. I’m Vanessa.
A: Carlos.
B: Nice to meet you, Carlos.

So you just moved in?
B: That’s right. On Monday. I meant to say hello earlier.

A: Don’t worry about it. Is that what you came to tell me?
B: Yes. And I brought you these.
A: For me?
B: Yeah. I’m just giving some to the neighbors as a little ‘hope-we-can-get-along’ gift.
A: Oh,, you really didn’t have to.
B: It’s my pleasure. It’s really no big deal.
A: All right then. What is it?
B: Nothing special. Just some cookies I made.
A: You made them yourself?
B: Yeah.
A: Are you a baker or something?
B: No. It’s just a little hobby of mine.
A: In that case, no thanks. Here.
B: I…
A: I’m just messing with you. Thank you. They look great.
B: Oh, thank goodness. Phew~
A: There’s a lot in here. (Do) You mind if I take these to work and share them?
B: Of course not. You can do whatever you want with them.
A: I live alone and I’m not really into sweets. But I’m sure the guys at work would love them.
B: That sounds great.
A: I’m a mechanic by the way. I work at El Primo. The one by the bus terminal.
B: I haven’t had a chance to look around yet.
A: Oh, you’re new to this area.
B: Pretty much.
A: Are you here for work?
B: Yes. I’m a nurse. I just got a job at St. Vincent. I’m starting in a couple of weeks.
A: Nice. You got a car?
B: Not at the moment. But I’m planning to get one soon - used most likely.
A: El Primo! It’s the best shop in town.
B: Haha… I’ll keep that in mind.
A: OK. And what about this? Can I just throw this out?
B: Well, it’s perfectly reusable but sure you can throw it out if you don’t need it.
A: Do you want it back?
