Hello this is Dio.
Today, I used a recipe that I often use to make soap that looks like Emmental cheese which can be seen in the cartoon “Tom and Jerry”.
I used red palm oil for the yellow color, and also added a little bit of milk.
Red palm oil in its oil state is red, but when it is made into a soap, it’s color changes into a beautiful yellow.
When making soap out of milk, the milk has to be frozen into ice cubes.
I forgot to freeze the milk, so I mixed it with frozen distilled water ice cubes.
Even with the ice cubes, the temperature of the mixture reached 50˚C, so I used cold water to decrease the temperature.
Something I always want to let you guys know is that you don’t need fancy ingredients to create quality soap.

오늘은 제가 자주 이용하는 레시피를 이용해서 톰과 제리에 나오는 에멘탈 치즈 디자인의 비누를 만들었어요.
노란색을 표현하기 위해 레드팜 오일을 사용했고, 우유도 조금 넣었어요.
레드팜 오일은 기름상태에서는 붉은색이지만, 비누가 되면 아주 예쁜 노란색으로 변한답니다.
일반적으로 우유로 비누를 만들때에는 우유를 얼려야 하는데
깜빡 잊고 우유를 얼리지 못해서 증류수 얼음과 섞어서 만들었어요.
그럼에도 불구하고, 온도가 50˚C 가까이 올라서 급하게 찬물을 이용해 온도를 낮추었습니다.
제가 항상 드리고싶은 말씀은, 재료가 복잡하지 않아도 질 좋은 비누를 얼마든지 만들 수 있다는 점이에요.
너무 어렵게 생각하지 마시고 꼭 한번 만들어보세요^^

※ Let's start with the things to be cautious about.
1. Sodium Hydroxide ( NaOH=40.00) is highly alkalic. Please ensure you put on your gloves, safety glasses, and mask at all time to prevent any burns.
2. Please put NaOH into the liquid. Not other way around. (NaOH = Solute, Liquid = Solvent)
3. When using dairy products such as breast milk or milk, please regularly check the temperature of the liquid-NaOH mixture to make sure the temperature doesn't go above 40˚C.
4. Do not touch the soap mixture with bare hands.
5. The finished soap cannot be used immediately. It can be used after six to seven weeks of drying and fermenting in shady and windy place.

※비누 만들기 전 주의사항
1. 가성소다는 강알칼리성 물질이므로 환기가 잘 되는곳에서 작업을 하시고,
반드시 장갑과 안경, 마스크를 착용하여 화상을 입지 않도록 주의하셔야 합니다.
2. 반드시 액체에 가성소다를 넣으셔야 합니다.
반대로 넣으실 경우 내용물이 튀어 화상의 위험이 있습니다.
3. 모유나 우유와같은 유제품을 사용하 실 경우 가성소다를 섞었을 때 40˚C 이상 올라가지 않도록
온도체크를 틈틈히 해주세요.
4. 비누반죽은 강알칼리성 상태이므로 절대 맨손으로 만지지 마세요.
5. 완성된 비누는 비누화의 안정이 되어있지 않으므로 곧바로 사용할 수 없습니다.
약 6주에서 7주동안 그늘지고 바람이 잘 통하는곳에서 충분한 건조와 숙성을 거친 후에 사용하세요.
