“Even if we lose, we cheer each other on.”
On October 14, more than 300 young people from China and the U.S. came together at Peking University for a youth exchange event inspired by China's initiative to invite 100,000 young Americans to China over the next five years.
After the main event, students from both countries took to the pickleball court for a friendly tournament . They may not have always found the right words, but teamwork and encouragement came naturally. Win or lose, the smiles and conversations carried on long after the match.
Sometimes, all it takes to make a new friend is to share a court.
