In the ever more competitive and crowded world of Chinese consumer products, things that are so ugly that they are cute have become a league of their own.
This month, China's e-commerce giant Taobao opened its second "ugly things" exhibition in Hangzhou, in an effort to promote its vendors who have achieved success through quirky designs that can be marketed as "ugly."
