Samsung Folded This Phone 200,000 Times. It Broke in 2 Days 📱💥
1. Samsung folded this phone 200,000 times to prove it was tough. Then YT-tech reviewers got the $1,980 phone... and some screens broke within days.
What went wrong with the samsung galaxy fold ? This foldable phone was supposed to prove the future was bendable. Samsung's lab test folded it 200,000 times on camera. Then the $1,980 galaxy fold went to reviewers — and some units died in 48 hours with flickering, bulges, and dead halves.
The hidden engineering story is in two flaws. One, the thin top layer looked like a removable screen protector, so some reviewers peeled it. It wasn't removable — it was part of the display. Two, gaps around the hinge let dirt and tiny particles get inside, and some screens failed even when the layer was left on.
Samsung pulled it, extended that layer past the screen edge so it's clearly not removable, added caps to protect the hinge, and shrank the gap between hinge and body. The fixed samsung fold came out in September 2019.
