Why is there a massive wave of black engine oil pouring out of this air pipe?! 🚀⚙️
When a mechanic works on the intake system or intercooler piping, they expect to find nothing but dry, compressed air! However, in this disastrous shop video, a mechanic goes to remove a lower intercooler hose and is instantly greeted by a massive wave of black sludge pouring all over their hands and flooding the garage floor! 
So how does heavy engine oil get inside a pipe designed only for air? The answer is a catastrophic turbocharger failure! Turbos use the engine's oil system to lubricate their internal spinning bearings. When the internal seals blow out, the turbo acts like a pump, forcing quarts of thick oil directly into the charge piping! If you don't drain this oil out, the engine will suck the liquid directly into the combustion chamber on startup, causing a dangerous "runaway" scenario or instantly hydrolocking the motor!
