대구미술관의 대표 기획전 시리즈인 대구포럼의 다섯 번째 전시 《바깥을 향한 속삭임》은 회화, 사진, 영상, 설치 등 40여 점의 작품을 통해 오늘날 우리가 놓치고 있던 감정과 관계, 기억과 역사의 풍경을 새롭게 바라본다.

이번 전시에는 타오 응우옌 판, 시린 네샤트, 마리오 파이퍼, 애니 닝, 김수자, 변카카, 최지목, 김범 등 국내외 작가 8인이 참여한다. 서로 다른 문화적·사회적 배경을 지닌 이들은 기억과 역사, 권력과 정체성, 신체와 감각, 공동체와 관계에 대한 질문을 각자의 언어로 풀어내며, 세계를 감지하는 또 다른 감각의 가능성을 제안한다.

《바깥을 향한 속삭임》은 가장 작은 목소리에 귀 기울이는 전시다. 거대한 정보와 강한 목소리가 넘쳐나는 시대 속에서, 이 전시는 우리가 미처 발견하지 못했던 사회의 신호와 감정의 흐름을 조용히 비춘다. 어쩌면 세계를 움직이는 변화는 가장 큰 목소리가 아니라, 가장 조용한 목소리에서 시작되는지도 모른다.

이번 트레일러는 그 작은 목소리들이 만들어내는 감각의 풍경을 미리 만나볼 수 있는 짧은 초대장이다. 작품 사이를 스쳐 지나가는 속삭임과 미세한 떨림의 순간들을 통해, 《바깥을 향한 속삭임》이 펼쳐낼 세계를 먼저 경험해 보기를 바란다.


The fifth edition of Daegu Forum, the signature exhibition series of Daegu Art Museum, Whispers Toward the Outside, presents over 40 works spanning painting, photography, video, and installation, inviting audiences to reconsider the landscapes of emotion, relationships, memory, and history that often go unnoticed in contemporary life.

The exhibition brings together eight artists from Korea and abroad: Thao Nguyen Phan, Shirin Neshat, Mario Pfeifer, Annie Ning, Kimsooja, Byun Kaka, Choi Jimok, and Kim Beom. Coming from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, these artists explore questions of memory and history, power and identity, body and perception, and community and human relationships through their own distinctive artistic languages, suggesting alternative ways of sensing and understanding the world.

Whispers Toward the Outside is an exhibition that listens to the quietest voices. In an age overwhelmed by information and amplified voices, it gently illuminates the subtle social signals and emotional currents that often escape our attention. Perhaps the changes that shape our world do not begin with the loudest voices, but with the quietest ones.
