I turned my lawn into a monster

I turned my lawn into a Halloween monster…

The eyes all use a single camera to track people walking past, but because they’re spread across the lawn, each one needs to point in a different direction to watch the same person. So I used Codex to build an app where I can set each eye’s position relative to the camera. The app tracks the person, calculates the motor angles for each eye, and sends those angles through a wireless gateway to the individual eye controllers.

A lot of you asked what happens when two people walk by at the same time, so I used Codex to add a rule that splits Fooky’s attention: five eyes following each person. The moving eyelids and color-changing LEDs give Fooky some personality too. Usually it’s just curious. But when a tiny monster walks by, Fooky gets spooky.
