Local resident Daniel Poleschook noticed the distressed animal from his home and immediately recognized that it needed help. His wife contacted the Stevens County Fire Department, hoping firefighters could safely reach the stranded deer.
When rescue crews arrived, they carefully assessed the situation and worked together to bring the animal back to shore.
Footage captured by Poleschook shows one firefighter holding the frightened deer steady while other crew members pulled a rope to guide them across the ice toward safety.
Despite the challenging conditions, the firefighters successfully brought the deer back to shore, where it was eventually released.
