Huawei’s smartphone business once ranked second worldwide. External sanctions cut off critical overseas services. HarmonyOS, which had been under development for years, stepped from a backup plan to the front‑line. It launched the pure‑blood version without Android code and realizes full‑scenario interconnection with micro‑kernel architecture. Growing from ecosystem building and domestic market expansion to global promotion, HarmonyOS has become the world’s third‑largest mobile operating system. Still, it faces big challenges in ecosystem maturity and overseas business. It marks a major breakthrough in independent and controllable core underlying‑technology.
