도마뱀 7,000여 종 중, 바다에서 먹이를 구하는 건
단 한 종뿐입니다. 바로 바다이구아나죠.
1835년 다윈은 이 도마뱀을
"몹시 역겹고 굼뜬" 어둠의 도깨비라고 기록했습니다.
그도 그럴 것이
새까만 피부, 뭉툭한 주둥이,
콧구멍에서 뿜어내는 물질들은
보통의 도마뱀들과는 사뭇 다른 형질들입니다.
