Hello lovely friends and followers,
remember the "Tomatina Coreana"? :-)
On August 5th, 2023, we went with 2 busses to the all time favorite
"Hwacheon Tomato Festival".
It was a blast ( not really from the past) but yes.. for 2 years, due to the Pandemic.. we had no celebrations, but then.. finally this year.. we had a Tomato Splashing Festival again.
In the peak of the summer heat.. the humidity level at the highest possible rate.. we enjoyed the splashing, bathing, dancing in a pool of Tomatoes.
- Water sprayed from the top of us.
- Local Regional Government Representatives added the Golden Rings into various Tomatoes and through the into the large Pool.
- And then the party started.
- Various Games were played.. people dancing and squashing tomatoes to find the golden ring.
Oh.. and then came all the rest like Tomato Splash, Tomato Slide, Tomato Shower, Tomato Bath.. imagine anything with and around and within Tomatoes ^^.
A local Military Vehicle Exhibition was displayed ~ because Hwacheon is so close to the DMZ.
And sporty Soldiers performed a really cool Taek Won Do Show!.
