The 540th Convocation of the University of Chicago took place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, on the Main Quadrangle. The ceremony featured the academic procession led by the University of Chicago Pipe Band, opening remarks from President A. Paul Alivisatos, and an introduction from Provost Katherine Baicker. Alison L. LaCroix, Robert Newton Reid Professor of Law, University of Chicago Law School Associate Member, Department of History, delivered the Convocation Address titled “On the Perpetuation of our Political Institutions.
