All Smiles! 1,000 earthquake-affected Xizang students resume classes safely at Lhasa school

Nearly two weeks after the 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Drachen county, Nagchu city, Southwest China's Xizang autonomous region, over 1,000 primary school students from the epicenter townships of Gangqie and Maru have arrived in Lhasa to begin their "first class back at school" at Lhasa Nagqu High School. Transported in three batches starting November 1 with dedicated escorts including cadres, police officers, and medical personnel, the children have settled into a secure and well-equipped learning environment.

Local authorities and schools have ensured comprehensive care, providing new stationery and bedding while keeping parents updated through real-time videos and photos. Teachers have integrated lessons of gratitude into their first classes, honoring the dedication of frontline rescuers and ensuring that no child's education is interrupted by the disaster.
