I'm at a new coworking space -- and I want to disappear. "That's so pathetic." "That's so desperate." "Who does that?" That's what I imagine everyone thinks.
People ask why I deleted all my videos. Why not just start a new account? I could've kept the audience. Kept the revenue. But if I leave myself a way back, I'll probably take it. I'll tell myself this whole thing is a stupid idea. I'll go back to what feels safe.
So I burn the ships.
I didn't delete everything to start over. I deleted it -- so going back wasn't an option. Now every time I meet someone, I know what's coming: "What do you do?" And I have to say it. "I make videos about finding my wife."
No hiding. No pretending. Because if nobody knows what I'm looking for, how can anyone help me find it? Maybe someone says, "I actually have a friend." Maybe nothing comes from it. I don't know. But I'll never find out if I keep it to myself.
