The Woodpecker’s Nest A New Life for the Tawny Owl #wildlife #naturedocumentary #wild #birds

A woodpecker builds its home in an old tree. But raising chicks in the forest is never easy.

From carving out a nesting cavity and gathering caterpillars to feed its young, to protecting its family from approaching predators, the woodpecker faces constant challenges. Even through a pine marten’s attack and harsh weather, the woodpecker family fights to survive.

As time passes and the woodpecker family leaves the nest, an owl discovers the empty tree cavity and turns it into a new home. Eggs hatch, chicks begin to grow, and another story of survival unfolds. But the dangers of the forest are far from over.

Predators lurking nearby, parents driven by instinct to protect their young, and the remarkable story of two families connected by a single tree.

Set in the forests of Europe, this cinematic wildlife documentary reveals how a small nesting cavity left behind by a woodpecker becomes a new home for another family of wild birds.
