- Moderator: Eunjin Kim (Director, ArtWell Conservation & Former Curator MMCA Korea)
- Panelists: Cecile Dazord (Curator and head of the contemporary art collection, Guimet, National museum for Asian art, Paris)

The collections of major museums abroad serve as a key indicator of contemporary art’s currents and values. This session examines the character of collections at leading international museums. Building on this, it explores strategies for Asian and Korean art to enter and expand on the global stage. The session offers an in-depth look at the collections of three institutions, each with a distinct vision.
In Japan, the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, emphasizes interaction with visitors and harmony between the local and the international. Musée Guimet France encompasses contemporary creation on the foundation of its vast Asian cultural heritage. Additionally, the session highlights the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which is expanding into Korean contemporary art across an extraordinary range. In doing so, the session compares and analyzes the curatorial identities of the three institutions.
Through this discussion, the session will confirm the contemporary standards attracting the attention of the global art market and its institutions, and offer a meaningful occasion to share practical directions and future possibilities for Korean art to move toward the center of world-class collections.
