Global skilled talents converge on Shanghai as 48th WorldSkills Competition prepares to open

The 48th WorldSkills Competition is set to take place from September 22 to 27 in Shanghai.
The Austrian delegation was the first to arrive at 6 a.m.
They will compete in baking, beauty therapy, cooking, automobile technology, and mechatronics, among other events.
Before the delegation entered China, 18 WorldSkills volunteers from Shanghai Maritime University were already waiting at the exit.
At 1 p.m., the German delegation arrived at Pudong Airport.
Most team members are visiting China for the first time and are eagerly anticipating their journey.
The German delegation sent 36 top skilled competitors to compete in 31 events.
Germany has accumulated over 400 medals since joining WorldSkills International in 1953.
Experts from around the world have begun arriving in Shanghai.
With the competition entering its final preparation stage, Shanghai Customs has implemented multiple measures to ensure rapid customs clearance for participants and materials.
Pudong Airport border inspection opened dedicated WorldSkills channels, deployed guiding officers, and activated all 58 counters for efficient participant entry clearance.
As of now, Shanghai Customs has cleared 77 batches of inbound event materials valued at approximately $7.0458 million, and customs clearance for competition materials is essentially completed.
