NEW! Major Setback for Lindsay Clancy

A major setback for Lindsay Clancy in her fight to avoid a second trial. After her first trial ended in an 11–1 deadlock, Clancy's defense team argued that retrying her for the deaths of her three children would violate her constitutional protection against double jeopardy.

The defense wanted to question jurors, particularly the lone holdout juror, Michael Desronvil, about allegations that he refused to follow the law, possible omissions on his juror questionnaire, and cellphone use during deliberations.

Now Judge William Sullivan has issued a ruling rejecting those requests for an evidentiary hearing. What does this mean for Clancy's double jeopardy argument? And is a second trial becoming inevitable?
