The Legacy You Choose To Leave. | Dan Hudock | TEDxColumbiana

Community by Influence is a talk about the kind of impact we leave on our communities long after we have left this earth. It speaks to the truth that real influence is not found in status, position, or recognition, but in the way we show up in the lives of others. It can be one simple gesture or idea which begins the building of an empire. And don’t most of us desire this? We want to leave our communities in better shape than when we arrived. Dan has a passion for the arts and the community. He started Indigo Theater with the goal of using theater to bring families and individuals closer together. He also co-founded Indigo Improv, a local comedy improv troupe. Both groups not only perform but also run workshops and camps designed to help high school students through adults gain confidence, discover their creativity, and connect more deeply with their community.
Outside of work, Dan is the proud dad of four children—Luke (high functioning autistic), Benjamin (currently living in Ecuador), Josiah (in the Doctorate program for Mathematics at Ohio University), and Sarah (adopted from Ethiopia). Most Sunday afternoons, you can find them at a local coffee shop, laughing and playing board games together.
