How Bryan Cranston Went From Malcolm’s Dad To Breaking Bad

Bryan Cranston recalled the pivotal career turning point when he finished seven seasons of playing the sweet, goofy dad on Malcolm in the Middle. Typecast as a sitcom father, Cranston was bombarded with offers to keep playing similar lighthearted comedy roles. Everything changed when creator Vince Gilligan remembered Cranston’s intense dramatic guest role on an episode of The X-Files from nine years earlier and invited him to read a script for a new show called Breaking Bad. Cranston was instantly hooked by the groundbreaking concept of taking a good, honest man and gradually turning him into a cold-blooded killer over the course of a series. Seeing a beloved goofy sitcom dad transform into television’s most terrifying villain all because of an old guest appearance on The X-Files is pure gold. #bryancranston #breakingbad #malcolminthemiddle #thexfiles #vincegilligan #walterwhite #behindthescenes #funny #viral #funnymoments #shorts #comedy #interview #latenight #celebritystories
