Researcher: China-US ties remain deeply 'interlocking'

The scale of China-US economic and trade ties remains substantial, and the relationship has also shown resilience despite a slight decline in bilateral trade last year, said Lyu Xiang, a research fellow at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. The dialogue between the two countries should not be an end in itself, but should focus on shared interests and a common future, he added.
