Earlier in the film, Creasy teaches Pita not to fear the sound of the starting gun, telling her to use it as a signal to move. Later, during the attack, that same sound takes on a completely different meaning. What started as a simple lesson for swimming becomes something that helps her react in a moment of real danger.
