In May 1960, Israel's intelligence agency, Mossad, carried out one of the most daring covert operations in history: Operation Finale. On a street in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Mossad agents captured Adolf Eichmann, one of the most wanted Nazi war criminals and a key organizer of the Holocaust's "Final Solution." After the defeat of Nazi Germany, Eichmann escaped Europe, assumed a new identity, and built a new life in Argentina. For years, he believed he had successfully disappeared. But nearly 15 years later, Mossad tracked him down and launched a carefully planned mission to capture him and bring him to justice. Operation Finale was far more than a manhunt. It was an intelligence operation involving surveillance, deception, and international risk. Eichmann's capture and trial exposed the inner workings of the Holocaust to a global audience and later inspired German philosopher Hannah Arendt's famous concept of the "Banality of Evil."
