디스커버리4를 캠핑카로 만들기 위한 정마담의 집념은 오늘도 계속됩니다.
그런데 이 차를 꾸미면서 아주 중요한 사실을 하나 발견했습니다.
생각보다 많은 부품을 당근에서 구입하고 있다는 것!
이번에 장착할 헤드램프 가드와 테일램프 가드, 그리고 후드 트레드 플레이트까지.
놀랍게도 트레드 플레이트는 전 주인이 영국에서 직접 주문했던 제품을 당근에서 구입했습니다.
영국에서 주문한 부품을 한국의 당근에서 만나다니!
당근 없었으면 디스커버리4를 도대체 어떻게 꾸몄을까요?
철재 제품은 규정상 문제가 될 수 있다고 생각해 이번에는 플라스틱 제품으로 준비했습니다.
그런데 후드 트레드 플레이트를 장착하려면 리벳 작업이 필요하더군요.
결국 멀쩡한 보닛에 구멍을 뚫어야 하는 상황!
하지만 디자인을 위해서라면 그 정도는 감수해야죠.
차를 아끼는 건지 괴롭히는 건지 이제 저도 잘 모르겠습니다. 😂
이렇게 하나씩 장착하고 나니 디스커버리4가 한층 더 오프로드 차량다운 모습으로 변해갑니다.
그리고 또 하나의 소식!
디스커버리4를 가져온 지 어느덧 3,000km를 주행했습니다.
제가 평소 엔진오일을 3,000km마다 교체하는 이유가 있습니다.
그동안 엔진을 내리는 작업을 워낙 많이 경험하다 보니 엔진 상태에 유독 민감해졌거든요.
물론 모든 차량이 3,000km마다 오일을 교체해야 한다는 뜻은 아닙니다.
차량 상태와 운행 환경, 사용하는 오일에 따라 관리 주기는 달라질 수 있습니다.
저는 비싼 수입 오일을 사용하는 대신 저렴한 국산 오일로 자주 교체하는 방식을 선호합니다.
비싼 오일을 사용하는 것보다 부담도 적고, 오일을 교체할 때마다 차량 상태까지 함께 점검할 수 있으니 일석이조 아니겠습니까?
이번에는 RH모터스에서 엔진오일 교체와 함께 디스커버리4의 전반적인 점검도 진행했습니다.
당근으로 부품을 구하고, 보닛에 구멍을 뚫고, 3,000km마다 엔진오일을 교체하는 남자.

Madam Jung's determination to turn the Discovery 4 into a camper van continues today as well.
However, while customizing this car, I discovered one very important fact.
You’ve actually bought more parts from Danggeun than you’d think!
The headlamp guard, taillamp guard, and hood tread plate that I’m installing this time.
Surprisingly, the tread plate was purchased from Danggeun after the previous owner had ordered it directly from the UK.

If it weren't for the carrot, how on earth would you have decorated a Discovery 4?
Since metal products could be problematic according to regulations, we prepared plastic items this time.
However, installing the hood tread plate requires riveting.
In the end, I had to drill a hole in the perfectly fine hood!
But if it's for the sake of design, I guess I have to accept that much.
I don't even know anymore whether I'm saving the car or bothering it. 😂
After installing these components one by one, the Discovery 4 is becoming more and more of an off-road vehicle.
And one more update!
It's already been 3,000 km since I got the Discovery 4.
There is a reason why I usually change the engine oil every 3,000 km.
Having experienced engine removals so many times, I’ve become particularly sensitive to the engine’s condition.
Of course, this does not mean that every vehicle must change its oil every 3,000 km.
Maintenance intervals can vary depending on the vehicle’s condition, driving environment, and the oil used.
I prefer to frequently switch to inexpensive domestic oil instead of expensive imported oil.
It’s more affordable than using expensive oils, and you can check your vehicle’s condition with each oil change—two birds with one stone, right?
This time, RH Motors also performed a comprehensive inspection of the Discovery 4 along with an engine oil change.
A man who gets parts from Danggeun, drills holes in the hood, and changes engine oil every 3,000 km.
