The Indian Plate Is Falling Apart Under Tibet - Next Big One?

The Indian Plate is breaking apart deep beneath Tibet, and scientists say the discovery is revealing forces powerful enough to reshape entire continents. For decades, researchers believed the Indian Plate was simply sliding beneath Asia, but new evidence suggests parts of it may be tearing and sinking in ways nobody expected. Hidden hundreds of miles below the surface, this colossal geological process could help explain why the Himalayas continue to rise and why the region experiences some of the most powerful earthquakes on Earth. The findings are giving scientists a rare look into the inner workings of our planet and raising new questions about what happens when continents collide. This video explores the dramatic breakup unfolding beneath Tibet, what researchers have discovered, and whether it could change our understanding of future seismic activity in one of the world's most active regions.
