It’s really hard to see this move as anything besides propaganda.
AI’s already been allegedly rebranded to SI, and now they don’t even want you to refer to their massive energy monstrosities as data centers, that’s not sophisticated enough.
The people over at OpenAI want everyone to refer to the infrastructure that showcase their long-term investments in computer, energy, and skilled work as compute campuses.
