Through enormous canals, reservoirs, pumps, and irrigation networks, the country is bringing water to barren land and turning it into farmland. At the center of the effort is the New Delta Project, designed to increase food production, reduce imports, and support Egypt’s growing population. But can such a massive amount of water be sustained in one of the driest regions on Earth?
