PKU students Sultan and Muhammet put their eyes and ears to the test as they explored Yue Opera 越剧 in our #ReEncounterwithChineseGlories series.
They discovered that in Yue Opera, female performers can take on male roles, transforming not only their appearance, but also their voices and movements. Then came the real challenge... trying the fan and water sleeves themselves.
Turns out, looking graceful on stage is a lot harder than it looks!
