Chinese electric heavy truck exports gain speed

China's electric heavy truck exports are surging, driven by volatile oil prices and global demand for green transport.
Customs data shows that in the first seven months of this year, China exported over 2,500 electric tractors – a year on year increase of more than 870 percent.
At a heavy truck manufacturer in central China’s Changsha, engineers are adjusting the vehicle’s length and wheelbase for clients in South Africa.
In June, the company exported 883 electric heavy trucks in one batch.
The company’s deputy general manager for overseas marketing said negotiations with one buyer lasted nearly two years because the customer was very concerned about after sales support.
The company has also provided a solution to a lack of charging facilities in remote areas, like mines, where power supplies are unreliable.
So far, the company has set up over 1,700 overseas service centers with more than 7,000 service professionals.
In the first seven months of the year, the company exported over 1,500 electric tractors – a nearly 12-fold increase year on year.
