폭염에 엉망이 된 텃밭 🌿 하지만 못난이 채소는 완전 럭키비키잖아! 맛있는 요리와 낮술로 무더위 극복 😋

폭염과 습한 날씨에 텃밭도 저도 조금씩 지쳐가는 여름 🌿

모양은 제멋대로지만 맛은 좋은 텃밭 채소들을 수확해
오랜만에 생각난 이자카야 스타일 감자 샐러드와 시저 샐러드,
홍새우와 관자, 텃밭 채소를 듬뿍 넣은 크림 파스타를 만들었어요

시원한 샤르도네 한 잔까지 곁들이니
덥고 습해서 아무것도 하기 싫던 마음도 금세 사라지는 것 같아요 :)

블루베리 수확이 끝난 뒤에는 가지치기와 순지르기도 해주고,
오이와 가지, 토마토, 애플수박도 하나씩 수확하며
더위에 지친 여름 텃밭도 조금씩 돌봐줬어요

그리고 잊을 만하면 찾아오는 치킨데이 🍗
매콤달콤한 양념치킨에 치즈를 왕창 올린
맘스터치 핫치즈밤 스타일 치킨과 감자튀김, 랜치 소스까지 만들어
시원한 에어컨 바람 아래 맥주 한 잔으로 하루를 마무리합니다 🍺

The hot, humid summer has been taking its toll on both me and my little garden 🌿

The vegetables may not look perfect, but they still taste delicious :)
I harvested what I could and made nostalgic izakaya-style potato salad, Caesar salad, and a creamy pasta loaded with red shrimp, scallops, and vegetables from the garden

Of course, everything tastes even better with a chilled glass of Chardonnay :)

With blueberry season over, I also spent some time pruning the bushes and trimming the new shoots, then harvested cucumbers, eggplants, tomatoes, and an apple watermelon while taking care of my heat-weary summer garden

And every once in a while, it has to be fried chicken day 🍗
I made my own version of Mom’s Touch Hot Cheese Bam Chicken—spicy Korean fried chicken covered in plenty of cheese—with fries and homemade ranch on the side

Ending the day in an air-conditioned room with an ice-cold beer… summer doesn’t seem so bad after all 🍺

Who cares if my vegetables look a little wonky?
When they come straight from my own garden, I’d say I’m pretty lucky :)
