How long should you look at a Chinese painting?
Associate Prof. Liu Chen, also the associate dean of the School of Arts, invites you to "walk into" a Chinese hand-scroll painting. Instead of reflecting a single moment from a single point of view, it is actually composed of a series of consecutive scenes. It takes time for the story to unfold in front of you, doesn't it?
“Don't rush to finish the painting.
Slow down.
And let it open itself to you.”
