Egyptian experts look on China-Egypt ties in trade, satellite and AI amid President Xi's state visit

Experts from Egypt expressed their confidence in China-Egypt ties as Chinese President Xi Jinping just arrived in Cairo for a state visit. A prime example is the China-Egypt TEDA Suez Economic and Trade Cooperation Zone, a flagship project that has transformed a desert since 2008 into a top industrial park, aligning China's Belt and Road Initiative with Egypt's "Vision 2030”.

The China-Egypt cooperation has also expanded into high tech, highlighted by the MisrSat-2 satellite launch, youth job training at the Luban Workshop and joint 3D digital archaeology projects.

Seventy years ago, Egypt became the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic ties with China. Today, China is Egypt’s largest trading partner, with total trade reaching $20.79 billion by 2025.
