Without missing a single spot! Road to mudslide-hit Gyirong Port cleared for heavy rescue gear

A vital rescue route into the heart of the mudslide-hit Gyirong Port was cleared at 10:00 AM on September 2. Heavy rescue equipment, relief supplies and rescuers can now enter the core disaster area by road.

Before this, firefighters had to hike in on foot, use drones to scout the area and rely on air-dropped light gear for basic surface searches as destroyed valley roads and massive landslides blocked all vehicles.

With the roads cleared, rescue teams are now using heavy machinery to clear debris, specialized teams to search buried structures, and life-detection tech to locate survivors.

Firefighters are now working alongside other emergency teams to launch a deep, thorough search of the entire area without missing a single spot.
