WorldSkills Youth Connect Through ‘One School, One Member’ in Shanghai

At Shanghai Information Technology College, competitors from the Thai team were observing the school's Autonomous Mobile Robotics program, one of its flagships. Team China has won the championship in this event at three consecutive WorldSkills competitions.

This event is called “One School, One Member”. It’s an important cultural exchange program of WorldSkills Competitions. Around 1,400 competitors visited 62 local schools in Shanghai and Zhejiang for this meaningful exchange.

Beyond skills exchanges, the Thai competitors also experienced Chinese culture — watching bamboo flute and guqin performances along with a calligraphy demonstration, and learning wuqinxi, or the five-animal exercises, to explore traditional Chinese health practices.

WorldSkills International President Francis Hourant also visited the school. He noted that China has deeply integrated WorldSkills standards into its vocational education and training system, a practice other countries would benefit from.
