이배 작가는 청조갤러리 1관 전체를 흰 종이로 도배하여 시간과 현실이 멈춘 듯한 순백의 공간 ‘White’를 만들었습니다. 관람객은 신발을 벗고 입장함으로써 자기를 낮추고, 시간이 멈춘 듯한 공간 속에서 주변과 스스로를 일치시키는 경험을 하게 됩니다. 완벽히 비워진 공간의 실체를 보여주기 위해, 작가는 일반적인 미술 재료 대신 가장 일상적인 소모품인 호치케스 심을 선택했습니다. 현장에서 직접 한 땀 한 땀 박아 넣은 호치케스 심이 흰 종이와 오버랩되며 벽면 위로 고유한 '붓질'의 이미지를 그려냅니다.

Artist Lee Bae transformed the entire Cheongjo Gallery C1 into White, a pure white space where time seems to stand still. Visitors remove their shoes before entering, experiencing a quiet moment of becoming one with both the space and themselves. Instead of traditional art materials, Lee used ordinary staples to reveal the presence of an emptied space. Each staple was carefully placed by hand, overlapping with the white paper to create the distinctive image of his Brushstroke series.
