Diana Guo shares her journey from a high-pressure career in finance to a life shaped by self-discovery, photography, travel, and deeper connection with the world. Beginning with a simple conversation with her therapist, she gradually learned to reconnect with her emotions, challenge society’s definition of success, and find meaning beyond achievement. Through her idea of the “Hero’s Journey,” Diana invites us to see transformation not as a single turning point, but as a continuous process of questioning, exploring, and becoming. Because the most important journey may not be toward becoming someone else—but toward becoming yourself. DIANA GUO is a private banker, photographer, and lifelong explorer of the human experience.
With more than 15 years of experience in private banking, she has worked closely with renowned entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals around the world, gaining a unique perspective on wealth, success, and identity. She has also helped clients establish a charitable foundation with funding of over RMB 100 million dedicated to supporting the development of women in China. Alongside her career in finance, she is a certified photographer with the Photographic Society of America (PSA) and the Royal Photographic Society (RPS). Her work has received recognition in numerous international and domestic photography competitions, and her photograph Yearning was featured by the BBC in the UK.
Beyond her professional and artistic pursuits, she has always maintained a deep curiosity about herself and the world around her. For years, she has continued to explore psychology and philosophy, reflecting on life, our relationship with the world, and what it truly means to become who we are.
These explorations across career, art, and the inner world have led her to reconsider a seemingly simple question—one that few people pause to ask:
When we have achieved what society defines as “success,” do we still have the courage to seek the life that is truly our own?
