오늘은 가을 배스를 만나러 수로권으로 다녀왔습니다.

전날 오전 대청호에서 뚝 떨어진 수온 때문에 예민해진 배스들을 몇 마리 만난 뒤, 다음 날 수로권 상황은 어떤지 확인 차 발길을 옮겼습니다. 수로권 역시 떨어진 수온 여파로 배스들이 매우 예민해져 있어, 연안 가까이 있는 녀석들은 낚싯줄 풀리는 미세한 소리에도 놀라 달아나는 상황이었는데요. 반면 멀리 있는 배스들은 반응이 좋아 멀리 던져 마릿수 손맛을 볼 수 있었습니다.

가을 배스는 오전에 햇볕을 받으며 몸을 덥히고, 오후가 되면 먹이 활동을 활발하게 이어나갑니다. 이날 역시 전형적인 가을 패턴을 보여주었는데요. 오전에 바닥 채비로 장타를 쳐서 멀리 있는 배스들을 공략해 손맛을 많이 봤고, 오후에는 표층을 공략해 활성도가 올라온 배스들을 계속해서 만날 수 있었습니다. 해질 무렵에는 눈으로 직접 보며 낚는 사이트 피싱으로 재미를 더했습니다.

가을은 덩치 큰 대물 배스를 만나는 것도 좋지만, 작은 녀석이라도 눈맛과 손맛을 전해준다면 그것만으로도 충분히 배스낚시의 참맛을 느낄 수 있는 계절인 것 같습니다.

Today, I visited a canal area in search of fall bass.

After catching a few finicky bass in Daecheong Lake due to a sudden drop in water temperature the day before, I headed to the canal to check the conditions. As expected, the canal bass were extremely spooky—even the slight sound of line coming off the spool would send nearby fish fleeing. However, bass holding further out were much more active, yielding a high number of catches on long casts.

Typical of autumn patterns, bass warm themselves up in the morning before actively hunting in the afternoon. In the morning, I targeted distant bass using bottom rigs, while in the afternoon, topwater action brought in active feeders. As the sun began to set, I finished the day with exciting sight fishing.

Autumn fishing is great for targeting huge bass, but even smaller fish offer incredible visual and tactile thrill, making every moment on the water deeply rewarding.
