I finally visited a spot that had been blocked by construction for years. After landing an 80cm Skygazer right at the start, the spot went completely quiet.
Moving along to search for new ground, I discovered a promising confluence where the Geum River meets a small canal! On my second cast, a massive fish hit hard and snapped my 3-pound braid line.
Shaking off the loss, I kept fishing the new spot and landed a bass close to 40cm, followed by mid-40cm bass, smaller ones, and even a Snakehead. Despite subtle early autumn bites, this newly found spot proved its high potential for the coming season!
