오랜만에 장성호로 출조를 다녀왔습니다.
작년 11월에 좋은 손맛을 봤던 기억이 있어 올해는 조금 일찍 찾아갔는데요. 장성호는 이번이 세 번째 방문이고, 발길을 댄 곳마다 모두 처음 가보는 포인트라 차근차근 탐색하며 낚시를 진행했습니다.
첫 포인트는 수몰나무 군락지가 늘어선 멋진 지형이었지만, 초반에는 배스의 움직임도 입질도 없어 답답한 시간이 이어졌습니다. 하지만 해가 뜨면서 베이트 피쉬가 연안 쪽으로 붙기 시작했고, 그 기회를 놓치지 않고 해당 구역을 집중 공략했습니다. 스켈레톤스위머와 스켈레톤블레이드훅 조합으로 바닥까지 안착시킨 뒤 돌바닥을 튕겨내듯 천천히 감아 들이자, 라인을 살짝 끌고 가는 약한 입질 끝에 무려 54cm 런커 배스가 올라와 주었습니다!
이후 상류 쪽으로 포인트를 이동했습니다. 물이 많이 빠져 길게 워킹을 해야 했지만, 물이 빠지며 새로 형성된 작은 둠벙 지형을 발견했습니다. 베이트 피쉬가 몰려 있는 곳을 위주로 캐스팅을 이어가던 중, 툭 하는 입질과 함께 장성호 배스 특유의 엄청난 힘을 쓰는 50cm 런커 배스를 추가로 만났습니다.
둠벙을 크게 한 바퀴 돌며 예민하게 간만 보던 녀석들을 끈기 있게 공략해 아담한 배스 한 마리를 더 채웠고, 철수 직전 또 한 마리의 런커 배스까지 접선하며 하루를 완벽하게 마무리했습니다!

I headed back to Jangseong Lake for a fall bass trip. After having a great run here last November, I decided to visit a bit earlier this season. Since it was my third time visiting the lake, every spot I fished was brand new territory requiring step-by-step exploration.
The first location featured a beautiful timber structure, but early on, there was zero bass activity. As the sun rose, baitfish began moving toward the bank. Matching this migration, I rigged a Skeleton Swimmer with a Skeleton Blade Hook, let it sink to the bottom, and slow-rolled it over the rocks. A subtle line bite paid off with a massive 54cm lunker!
Moving upstream where water levels had dropped, I navigated a newly formed isolated pocket (pund-like area). Targeting concentrations of baitfish, I landed another hard-fighting 50cm lunker that put up an incredible struggle.
By patiently working through finicky bites and re-targeting key holds, I landed a smaller bass, and right before packing up, I was blessed with yet another lunker to finish the day with 3 lunkers and 1 smaller bass in total!
Fall bass fishing can be tough, but finding the right blend of baitfish and cover delivers incredible rewards.
