18 Years Later, Timo Boll Is Back at PKU | PKU Events

What does it feel like to return to the place where you won your first Olympic medal, 18 years later?

During German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's visit to Peking University, table tennis legend Timo Boll returned to Khoo Teck Puat Sports Complex, the very venue where he made Olympic history 18 years ago. This time, he shared the table with PKU President Gao Song 高松 and members of the university's student table tennis team.

We also sat down with Boll for an exclusive interview, where he talked about his memories of Beijing, his connection with China, and why coming back was such an emotional experience.

And for the students? Imagine going from watching your idol on TV to playing right across the table from him!
