2025 한강라이트 빛섬 축제에서 전시합니다.
빛의 터널은 자양역 고가 하부에 설치된 장소특정적 미디어 작업으로, 산업화 이후 중첩된 물리적 이동과 디지털 연결의 환경 속에서 “우리는 어디에 있으며 어떻게 존재해야 하는가”라는 질문에서 출발합니다.
작품은 지하철이 자양역에서 청담역 방면으로 출발하는 순간 시작됩니다.
열차의 진동과 소리가 빛과 데이터로 치환되며, 관객은 두 개의 터널인 라이팅 터널과 레이저 터널을 차례로 통과하게 됩니다.
라이팅 터널은 아날로그와 디지털 세계 사이에서 ‘머무름과 존재의 감각’을 교차시킨 공간입니다. 아날로그 공간이 주는 우연한 발견과 몰입, 있는 그대로의 아름다움은 디지털 세계의 선택·통제·반복과 대비되며, 관객은 그 사이의 결핍과 충돌 속에서 자신만의 감각을 경험합니다.
레이저 터널은 일방향으로 흐르는 터널의 속성을 벗어나, 수평과 수직으로 확장되는 감각의 공간입니다. 관객은 빛과 공간의 교차 속에서 각자의 존재적 위치를 사유하며, 단일한 흐름이 아닌 다차원의 이동을 경험합니다.
빛의 터널은 단순한 통과의 길이 아니라, 잠시 머물며 사유할 수 있는 감각적 쉼터를 제안합니다. 관객은 각자의 속도와 리듬으로 이동하고 머무르며, 아날로그와 디지털 사이의 틈에서 자신을 발견하게 됩니다.

Tunnel of Light is a site-specific media installation beneath Jayang Overpass, emerging from the question: “Where are we, and how should we exist within the layered flows of physical and digital mobility?”
The work begins at the moment a train departs Jayang Station toward Cheongdam. The vibrations and sounds of the subway are translated into light and data, opening a new intersecting space where physical movement crosses with digital rhythm. Visitors are invited to journey through two tunnels—the Lighting Tunnel and the Laser Tunnel.
The Lighting Tunnel unfolds between the analog and the digital. It contrasts dwelling and discovery—qualities of the analog realm— with choice and repetition, inherent to the digital. Within this intersection, visitors encounter both absence and resonance, shaping their own sensory experience.
The Laser Tunnel breaks away from a single directional flow. Here, perception expands horizontally and vertically, as beams of light reconfigure space and suggest new possibilities of movement. The tunnel becomes a stage for multiplicity, not linear passage.
Tunnel of Light proposes more than a path to pass through. It becomes a sensory refuge, where visitors may pause, move, and reflect at their own pace—discovering themselves within the interval between analog and digital worlds.
