Bull Elk Headbutts Photographer

A photographer had an incredibly close encounter with a young bull elk in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The elk repeatedly headbutted him, bringing its antlers dangerously close to his face.
Instead of running, the photographer remained calm and stayed low, hoping not to provoke the animal further. Eventually, he was able to stand up and safely walk away as park rangers approached.
