✨ Up, up and away! #NTUsg’s 14th #satellite, 🛰️ CRIMSON-1, has been successfully launched into space. Led by the NTU Satellite Research Centre at the @NTUsgEEE, the mission will test Singapore-developed technologies in orbit.
Next-generation perovskite solar cells will be assessed for their durability and power generation capabilities in the harsh environment of space. On board, edge AI computing will also be used to analyse satellite images directly in space, potentially reducing the amount of raw data that needs to be sent back to Earth.
CRIMSON-1 was launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on the Transporter-18 mission and deployed using Exolaunch’s EXOpod Nova system, with support from the National Space Agency of Singapore under the Space Access Programme. https://ntu.sg/NTUSG-CRIMSON-1
