The Song of Foods 음식타령

‘음식타령’은 판소리 흥보가 중의 한 대목으로 부자가 된 흥부를 찾아 온 놀부에게 음식을 대접하는 장면을 표현한 곡으로 산해진미로 음식을 만드는 과정과 음식을 담고 내 오는 과정을 음악적 어법으로 재미있게 표현한 곡이다.

‘The Song of Foods’ is a part of a Pansori titled ‘Heungboga.’ It describes the scene where Heungbu dishes up a great dinner for Nolbu when he visits Heungbu after Heungbu becomes rich. It describes the course of making delicate dishes, setting and bringing the table, while showing sophisticated musicality.
