CultureQuest - Powering New Visitor Experiences with Museums

Have you ever wanted to talk to the Egyptian gods? What would you ask, and what might they ask of you?

As GenAI rapidly approaches universality, we ask:
What role might it play in the heritage sector?
How might GenAI affect the museum experience?
Could it improve visitor engagement?

These are the questions behind CultureQuest: an interactive, GenAI-powered ‘quest experience’ for museums and galleries. It has been designed to unlock new ways for visitors to explore and engage with collections through dynamic conversation with characters.

CultureQuest was developed by Meaning Machine in collaboration with the University of Bristol Digital Game Lab and Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, and funded by Digital Catapult.
