When Edgar Wright Snuck The Same Joke Into 3 Movies

Edgar Wright loves a good running gag, and in the Cornetto Trilogy he snuck the same fence-jumping joke into all three movies. In Shaun of the Dead, Simon Pegg’s Shaun smugly asks “Never used a shortcut before?” and leaps a garden fence, only to tumble over it while his unimpressed friends look on. In Hot Fuzz, Sergeant Nicholas Angel asks the same thing and clears fence after fence like an action hero, while Nick Frost’s Danny charges right through one instead. Then in The World’s End, Gary King flees from the glowing-eyed blanks and tries the shortcut one last time, until the fence gives way under him. Seeing Simon Pegg take on the same garden fence three movies in a row and never quite win is pure gold. #edgarwright #simonpegg #nickfrost #cornettotrilogy #shaunofthedead #hotfuzz #theworldsend #eastereggs #movies #movieclips #behindthescenes #funny #viral #funnymoments #shorts #comedy
