Why do mechanics use so much grease on heavy equipment wheel hubs?! 🚜🔧
When working on heavy-duty commercial trucks, tractors, or industrial machinery, the wheel bearings endure an immense amount of friction and heat. To prevent the metal rollers from scarring or welding themselves to the axle spindle, mechanics have to use a massive amount of high-temp, extreme-pressure (EP) grease!
Instead of relying on a tiny grease gun, they often use 1-kilogram bags of grease, squeezing it out into their hands and physically pressing it into every crevice of the hub.
