Why Are Mechanics So Mad About This Video?!

Why do car wheels suddenly snap off on the highway?! 🛞💥
If you want to start a fight between mechanics, ask them how to pack a wheel bearing! Inside your car's wheel hub is a heavy-duty roller bearing that takes the entire weight of your vehicle. If it runs dry, the extreme friction will actually melt the solid steel, locking up your wheel at 70MPH and snapping it right off the axle!
To stop this, mechanics hand-pack the bearing by aggressively forcing thick grease deep inside the metal cage. But there is a massive debate happening in this video! The mechanic smears a huge, extra glob of grease directly onto the outside of the axle spindle. Old-school mechanics swear by this, but modern technicians warn that using too much grease will cause it to expand, blow out the rubber seals, and ruin your brakes!
